Looking back at China's 60th anniversary celebrations

It has been a busy weekend for China, though a relaxing one for most Chinese people. This is now the middle of the National day holidays that started on the 1st of October. Most people have time off work and kids have time off school. On Thursday, in Beijing, they had a huge parade of over 200,000 people. If you didn't see it, here's a chance to catch up.

Genral Motors car sales in China hit record high

The Gaurdian newspaper in the UK has, today, a story about General Motors, the US car giant, achieving record sales in China this month. According to the article, they sold 181,148 vehicles in September 2009. Sales for the first 9 months of 2009 were up 55% with 13,000,000 vehicles to date. GM has about a 13% share of the Chinese car market.

Sixty Years of the People's Republic of China

First post on my new site. Oh isn't it so exciting. The possibilities. It is always a thrill to start something new. For me it is only a web site, but Sixty years ago, tomorrow, China was celebrating a new start. This time it was a new Country: The People's Republic of China. My starting a new web site and blog pales into insignificance compared with that achievement. So lets take a quick look at some of the Key events of the last 60 years in China.
